Recently while reading Sidney Sheldon’s most
famous novel “The Sky Is Falling”, I came across something I found interesting
enough to share with you all. While
reading about a secret, underground city situated in Russia in the novel, I was
surprised of its actual existence!
I did a little bit of research on this small,
secret, closed town in krasnoyarsk, Krai, Russia.
Nestled in the forest wilds
of Siberia, Krasnoyarsk-26(the town's former name) today known as Zheleznogorsk, was
the largest producer of plutonium in Russia, which is the key ingredient in
nuclear weapons. Formed during the Cold War in 1950 by Joseph Stalin, whose
sole purpose for existence was to secretly produce high quality, world class nuclear
armaments. Till today there is one fully functioning reactor in the city which
they say if turned off would kill the entire population of Karsnoyarsk-26, as
it is the energy generated from this reactor that heats this frozen city!
Situated in the banks of Russia’s Yenisei River, Krasnoyarsk-26
is just one of many still existing underground cities in Russia! As is the tradition with Soviet towns containing secret
facilities, "Krasnoyarsk-26" is actually a P.O. Box number and
implies that the place is located some distance from the city of Krasnoyarsk.

Residents in similar cities were
recruited from across the USSR to inhabit the city and staff its military
production facilities. In exchange for constant KGB- “committee for state
security of the Soviet Union” surveillance and heavy isolation, these residents
were provided with a high standard of living. Food, wages, and housing in the
secret city was the best in the USSR and thus attracted the most talented and
brightest Soviets. However, the trade-off meant these citizens were subject to
extreme control and monitoring on behalf of the government. The concrete wall
that surrounds Krasnoyarsk-26 is a staunch reminder of the limits that
confronted residents.
With the end of the Cold War
and the scaling down of nuclear activities, Russian secret cities are facing
many new challenges. Former closed cities that depended on the
military-industrial activities for their sustenance are struggling to find
services and jobs.
Krasnoyarsk 26 isn't all that secret of a city. It's right down river only a few miles from probably the nicest city in Russia. Krasnoyarsk.
ReplyDeleteYes it was a secret city for years... but certainly not all that secret. And it certainly isn't out n the middle of nowhere surrounded by bleak tundra. Heck...it's got a ski resort for the kids right in town. Quality of life easily rivals that of Canada or Germany or Sweden during its heyday.
A little research opens up all this information. Including the three reactors inside the mountain on one side of this mile wide town... and the mighty Yenisei River on the other. And dirt floor csvetns ste not tbe correct immage. Think of a marble lined opera house... Yes the reactors indide the mountsin are set in a beautiful setting. The huge dam upstream feds the equally huge aluminum plant 15 mi away in Krasnoyarsk... But it lies semi unused at this time. K-26 still is a gem even though it's weapons grade product now is way...way... past tense. But what to do for this highly skilled workforce? Well guess what?...The world's second fully finctioning GPS system comes from this town...now that the thinking population needed something to ponder once a-bombs became a thing of the past. Hey...the world is a big place. And just because the address says Siberia... It certainly doesn't make it an inhospitable wasteland. Think British Columbia on the ocean vs Saskatchewan.That's the difference between Krasnoyarsk and most of the Siberian noryjen wastes.

hi im a Singapore citizen I have a something that you need is myself. I can feel that now my country have one type of force .every time when I suddenly think of some not happy moment the human that I see face to face or by side will use their hand to touch their face their nose or take out the tongue this type of movement it let me feel really uncomfortable but after that I feel there was a force a onzone layer coming inside me and I will forget just now what the Singapore people are doing .I have many type of weird patten I can act like catching the bird and when the bird I coming closer it fly away I feel something transfer to the bird and let my stomach pain go away.someday I feel im very clever . I see the place the sign I can link to somethings and when I sleep I can see smoke in the front when I close my eye I can use the smoke to vision things sometime I can clearly see man and lady in when I close my eye its seem running in my mind and I sometime will fight with this in my brain and when there is a vision come if I slow slow push away and welcome another vision I will heard something drop really I'm not hearing voice or paranoid.its real human dropping somethings, cough, or clear throat.i can see the sky for abt 1min plus without brinking the eye I can see the cloud there will have some image mostly is human head .and I will see many wave of green colour red colour even lights .when you get up suddenly there will see my brinking lights .current wave I also can see up in the sky. this Singapore I suppect somethings on some secret cult are using this country to do their information for other part of the country they mark the citizen .
